If all the godly people you know are gone, seemingly dead, and you are still on this earth and things begin to happen that only God can do ... stars falling from heaven, mountains moving into the sea, and such, the day of the Lord has begun.
Here is the way we can recognize the day of the Lord when it comes.
Revelation 8:6-13
And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.
And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!

The Wrath of God, The Great Tribulation, will not come upon the earth until the apostasy has happened in the churches.
But we have been seeing the apostasy in the churches for several decades. We know this because various scriptures have been removed in the church groups and this was the restraint holding antichrist, the man of lawlessness back.
I believe the children of God, who have endured faithfully, will be removed before the wrath of God comes.
If all the people you know who are truly godly are gone but you are still here something went very wrong with you!
Many church people will be shocked to still be here when God sends HIS wrath upon this earth.
You cannot be sitting with the lawless people in the congregations without putting yourself in the path of the wrath of God which is coming upon those churches where scripture has been removed and explained away.
Why would you stay in such a setting where scripture is being denied?
The minute you see portions of scripture removed, you must remove yourself from them.
There might also be other reasons for you to be left ... There are things we have to do as the church while we are here.
You might want to be asking God to show you if there are things you are leaving out.
Certainly we are saved by Jesus and the price HE paid. But some who go through the great tribulation will be saved... 144,000.
This is not meant to needlessly frighten you but to awaken you to the current situation and to cause each of us to turn to God and awaken and to really be ready when Jesus does return.
For we do not want to be left on this earth for the period of The Great Tribulation.
