* Vol. 12 - 14 That Which Defiles

Matthew 15

Jesus says:

11-20   Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man.

Then came HIS disciples, and said unto HIM, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying?

But HE answered and said, Every plant, which MY heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

Then answered Peter and said unto HIM, Declare unto us this parable.

And Jesus said, Are ye also yet without understanding? Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught?

But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.

For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:

These are the things which defile a man: but to eat with unwashen hands defileth not a man.

Listen carefully to those words that come out of your mouth for they show you that which is in your heart.

If evil comes forth from your own mouth, you will know you have evil in your heart and you can repent and be cleansed.

If you are blind to it however, and keep speaking evil, you walk on in darkness.

If you have the Holy Spirit in you, you should be able to recognize when something you say is wrong.

Therefore Jesus says:

Matthew 12

33-37   Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

That which we allow into our heart is either good treasure or evil treasure.

Treasure is something we hold onto.

If you have evil come forth from your heart multiple times, know that it is something you treasured as truth and wise.  That is why you are holding onto the saying.  If that saying is from men and not from God it is simply wisdom of men and is evil.

You can tell what is in your heart if you listen to that which you speak.

I want to build my house on the Word of God.

I want the wisdom that I have to be from God and not from thinking of men of this present world.

Therefore I work to uproot worldly sayings from my heart when I see they are there.  And I take care not to take their sayings into my heart by turning to God in prayer and asking God to help me and to uproot their sayings.
